 2. WHY IS INVESTING IN GOLD WITH UMICORE A SAFE INVESTMENT?

For over 170 years, Umicore has been producing and selling precious metals. We are one of the oldest suppliers of internationally recognised and certified gold and silver bars. Our gold bars are a safe investment which combines tradition with responsibility for the planet’s future.

• Recycling and reuse: Our gold and silver bars are sustainably produced using precious metals from our recycling plant, which is the largest in the world for electronic waste, old mobile phones, laptops and waste catalytic converters. It returns a total of 18 valuable metals to the production cycle. By doing so, we make a significant contribution to the conservation of natural resources.
• Environmentally friendly processes: We are constantly striving to achieve an ever more efficient use of metals, energy and other resources in everything we do, and we are committed to responsible processes in mining.
• Responsibility and transparency: We apply strict standards to our corporate responsibility and transparency. Our gold comes exclusively from refining processes from London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) accredited companies in Europe. LBMA accreditation guarantees the quality of the refining processes, the analytical competence and the financial stability of these companies. In addition, all LBMA accredited companies comply with the Responsible Gold Guidance (RGG). The RGG is based on the OECD Due Diligence Guidance and is intended to prevent human rights abuses, the financing of conflict and terrorist activities and money laundering.

3. GOOD GOLD. THE BETTER INVESTMENT.

Since the beginning of 2017, our gold ingots and bars have also been available in attractive packaging with a certificate of authenticity and security. They are available in weights from 1-100g from banks and selected stockists.

The most important information on the packaging at a glance:

1. The number on the certificate matches the number on the gold itself.
2. The bar is protected by the packaging’s sturdy transparent mould.
3. The certificate guarantees the authenticity of Umicore gold bars as well as guaranteeing a safe investment.
4. Umicore gold is available in weights between 1g and 1000g.
5. High quality and robust packaging for bars up to and including 1 troy ounce in bank card size. Bars of 50g to 100g come in a slightly larger square format.
6. The gold and silver for our Umicore precious metal bars are supplied by globally recognised LBMA certified producers.
7. The hologram is an optical security feature which provides a high level of protection against counterfeiting.
8. Our bars are produced sustainably at our own recycling facility - the largest in the world using precious metals from electronic scrap.
